Adam Mastoon
Adam Mastoon is a socially engaged educator, artist, and author whose work addresses equity, inclusion, and social justice. Adam collaborates with organizations to develop distinctive programs that honor individuals, their identities, and cultural legacies. His work sparks the transformative power of representation and inclusion and strengthens the culture of diversity and belonging in communities.
Adam has created award-winning initiatives in collaboration with CUPA-HR (College and University Professional Association for Human Resource), Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, The Harvard School of Public Health, Princeton University, Rhode Island School of Design, SUNY, Swarthmore College, and many other institutions.
Adam is the founder of The Shared Heart Initiatives, a non-profit organization, traveling exhibition, and secondary school curriculum created to amplify affirming stories of LGBT
young people. The Shared Heart was published by William Morrow and HarperCollins and received the American Library Association: Stonewall, Non-Fiction Book Award, and the International Reading Association: Notable Books for a Global Society Award.
Adam holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The New School - Parsons School of Design, and a Master of Interdisciplinary Art Degree from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. He lives in Rhode Island with his husband Rabbi Andy Klein.
